9/12/2024

The 2024 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos, particularly the Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service (COPS), received high honors in both the Senate and the House of Representatives for their exemplary contributions to law enforcement and public service.
On September 9, 2024, the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and assisted by Congressman Roman Romulo, a member of the Final Board of Judges for the Outstanding Filipinos, passed House Resolution No. 1962. The resolution commended the 2024 COPS awardees - Police Major Mark Ronan Balmaceda, Police Lieutenant Colonel Bryan Bernardino, and Police Staff Sergeant Llena Sol-Josefa M. Jovita - for their outstanding leadership, integrity, and commitment to ensuring peace and order in their communities. Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME) President Karlo Benjamin Nisce and COPS Chairman Jumi Borlaza took part in the presentation, emphasizing the longstanding collaboration between the Metrobank Foundation and RCNME in recognizing the nation’s finest.
Just two days later, on September 11, 2024, the Senate of the Philippines, led by Senate President Chiz Escudero and Outstanding Filipinos Board of Judges Chairman Senator Mark Villar, passed Senate Resolution No. 1189. The resolution honored the officers for their remarkable contributions to law enforcement and nation-building. RCNME President Karlo Nisce, alongside Public Image Director Jian Anisco, joined the Senate ceremony, further spotlighting the officers’ dedication to public safety and service excellence.
Both chambers recognized the vital role these officers play in fostering community development and maintaining public safety. The ceremonies in Congress and the Senate not only celebrated their individual achievements but also underscored the essential partnership between the Metrobank Foundation and RCNME in upholding the highest standards of public service.
These recognition events serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of collaboration in honoring the individuals who go beyond the call of duty to protect and serve the nation, setting an enduring standard of excellence in law enforcement.
