Barangay Bahay Toro, STI & RCNME Cements Partnership
8/8/2024
On August 6, 2024, the Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME) made significant strides in its mission to enhance education and community service through the signing of two key Memoranda of Agreement (MOA). These agreements were established with Barangay Bahay Toro Captain Jun Ferrer and Systems Technology Institute (STI) BGC Administrator Rod Carbonel, marking the beginning of strategic collaborations that will benefit both the community and local students.
The MOA with STI BGC is particularly meaningful as it launches the RUDY (Relief for Underprivileged but Deserving Young Women) Bridge Scholarship Program. This initiative is dedicated to the memory of RCNME President Karlo Benjamin Nisce’s late grandfather, PDG Rodolfo “Rudy” Nisce, who served as District Governor of District 380 in 1966-1967—a district that eventually evolved into the current District 3780. The scholarship program is designed to provide financial support and educational opportunities to underprivileged but deserving young women, empowering them to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.
Simultaneously, the MOA with Barangay Bahay Toro marks the official adoption of the barangay by RCNME. This partnership aligns with the club’s vision of deepening its community service efforts by engaging more closely with local communities. Through this adoption, RCNME will roll out various initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for residents, including projects focused on health, sanitation, youth development, and livelihood support.
RCNME President Karlo Benjamin Nisce and Club Secretary Jumi Boralaza signed the agreements on behalf of the club, with Public Image Director Jian Anisco also in attendance to emphasize the importance of public engagement. Other club members were present to witness the occasion, where Barangay Bahay Toro Captain Jun Ferrer and the STI Administrator Rod Carbonel spoke passionately about the collaboration and the positive impact these initiatives will bring.
President Nisce shared his thoughts on the partnerships, stating, “By signing this Memorandum of Agreement, we formalize our partnership. Together, we commit to creating a brighter future through education and community service.”
Captain Ferrer and the STI BGC Administrator highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving shared goals, expressing their excitement for the future and the positive impact these partnerships will bring. These partnership represent a significant chapter in RCNME’s efforts to create lasting, positive change and reinforcing the role of civic organizations in driving progress and uplifting communities & education.
