The Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME) successfully conducted a Community Livelihood Workshop on October 25, 2025, held at the function room of Barangay Bahay Toro. Designed to uplift local residents through practical skill-building, the workshop focused on providing basic training in haircutting and sewing, as well as introducing participants to promising opportunities in the t-shirt making business, a growing source of income for many small entrepreneurs.
A total of 29 participants attended the event, each gaining hands-on experience that empowered them to begin exploring small-scale livelihood ventures. The training sessions were conducted in an accessible and engaging manner, enabling attendees to acquire skills they can immediately apply to support their families and enhance their economic stability.
To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment, breakfast and lunch were provided for all participants. Adding to the excitement of the event was a raffle draw, where six lucky winners received sewing and haircutting starter kits, valuable tools that can help jumpstart their journey toward sustainable income generation.
This meaningful initiative was organized in partnership with Barangay Bahay Toro and Barangay Captain Medi Alcantara, aligning with Rotary International’s Area of Focus on Community Economic Development. Through activities like this, RCNME continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to empowering communities, nurturing self-reliance, and creating long-term opportunities for livelihood and growth.
