7/22/2024

On July 22, 2024, the Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME) handed over a Laparoscopy Tower to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH). This significant turnover was led by Immediate Past President (IPP) Marlon Mañaol and International Service Director Mike Dela Cruz, showcasing the club’s dedication to advancing medical technology and healthcare services in the country.
The acquisition of the Laparoscopy Tower was made possible through a global grant in partnership with Rotary Club Daejon Jungdo. This collaboration highlights the power of international partnerships in achieving impactful health initiatives. By working together, RCNME and RC Daejon Jungdo have demonstrated the Rotary spirit of service above self, aiming to address critical healthcare needs.
The handover ceremony was attended by prominent Rotary leaders, including Past District Governor (PDG) Danny Fausto, Past President (PP) Anton Sayo, and Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) Paul Galang. Their presence underscored the importance of this initiative and the collective efforts of the Rotary community in supporting healthcare advancements.
The Laparoscopy Tower is a state-of-the-art medical equipment that will significantly enhance the capabilities of the PGH Pediatric Surgery department. This advanced technology will allow for minimally invasive procedures, leading to quicker recovery times, reduced pain, and lower risks of complications for young patients. By equipping PGH with this vital tool, RCNME aims to improve the quality of medical care available to children, thereby positively impacting their health outcomes.
President Karlo Benjamin Nisce of RCNME expressed his gratitude to all partners involved in making this project a reality. “This initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration and our commitment to serving our community. By providing PGH with this Laparoscopy Tower, we are not only enhancing medical services but also ensuring that children receive the best possible care. We are grateful to RC Daejon Jungdo and all our members for their unwavering support,” he said.
The handover of the Laparoscopy Tower marks a significant milestone in RCNME’s ongoing efforts to support and improve healthcare services in the Philippines. It is a shining example of how Rotary’s global network can come together to address local needs and make a lasting impact.
As RCNME continues its mission to serve and uplift communities, projects like these underscore the importance of international collaboration and the positive change that can be achieved through united efforts. The Rotary Club of New Manila East remains steadfast in its commitment to service, innovation, and community development, with the Laparoscopy Tower project standing as a beacon of hope and progress.
