RCNME Secures ₱1.7 Million in Medical Equipment for Quirino Memorial Medical Center through Global Grant

In an inspiring display of global cooperation, the Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME) has secured a PHP 1.75 million upgrade in life-changing medical equipment for Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC), one of Metro Manila’s key public hospitals and training grounds for future physicians.

The project, funded through Rotary International’s Global Grant Program (GG2573539), was led by RCNME President Karlo Benjamin Nisce and International Service Director Michael Dela Cruz, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Daejeon Jungdo of South Korea. The initiative delivers cutting-edge dermatological technology: a high-definition LED microscope, which enhances the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities, and an advanced excimer laser system, widely regarded as a gold-standard treatment tool for complex skin diseases.

But the impact extends far beyond individual patients. QMMC is not only a vital center for healthcare access but also a premier teaching hospital, training the next generation of Filipino doctors. With these new resources, both patient care and medical education will see lasting, systemic improvements.

“This is more than just an equipment upgrade,” Nisce explained. “We’re strengthening public health, investing in Filipino medical professionals, and proving that global partnerships can create long-term, scalable change.”

The new equipment, now en route to Quezon City, is poised to advance the diagnosis and treatment of severe dermatological conditions, an area of healthcare that often remains underserved in public institutions. For patients, it offers faster, more accurate care. For doctors, it provides hands-on training with world-class technology. And for Rotary, it marks another chapter in the organization’s legacy of service, collaboration, and global solidarity.
