RCNME’s Swift Humanitarian Response to Typhoon Carina: A Guiding Light of Hope in Turbulent Times.
7/26/2024

In the aftermath of Typhoon Carina, the Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME) demonstrated remarkable agility and compassion in delivering aid to affected communities. Under the capable leadership of Community Service Director Dave Buenviaje, RCNME’s team mobilized rapidly, bringing much-needed relief to the beleaguered residents of Barangays Bahay Toro and Pansol, adopted communities of RCNME.
Arriving promptly the morning after the typhoon struck last July 25, 2024, the team distributed 200 food packs, 100 beverages, and 15 gallons of clean water. These provisions were not just necessities; they were lifelines, offering immediate sustenance and hope to families grappling with the disaster’s impact.
RCNME’s response exemplifies the organization’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, particularly as it celebrates its 40th anniversary under the theme “Loud & Proud.” This milestone is not just a celebration of past achievements but a reaffirmation of the club’s dedication to proactive and compassionate action that is amplified in the community. The swift and well-coordinated relief effort was made possible through collaboration with local authorities, under the leadership of Captain Jojo Mahusay (Barangay Pansol) & Captain Jun Ferrer (Barangay Bahay Toro) as well as Hon. Councilor PP Charm Ferrer, showcasing the power of collective action in times of crisis.
This initiative is a testament to RCNME’s enduring legacy of service and support, highlighting the club’s role as a pillar of strength in the community. As RCNME continues its journey, its commitment to uplifting lives and responding to urgent needs remains steadfast, embodying the true spirit of Rotary’s humanitarian mission.
