The Rotary Club of New Manila East Strengthens Global Ties in South Korea
7/1/2024
In a remarkable showcase of international camaraderie, the Rotary Club of New Manila East, under the new leadership of President Karlo Benjamin Nisce, recently embarked on a memorable journey to South Korea. The purpose of their visit was to attend the prestigious inauguration ceremony of the 47th president and officers of their sister club, the Rotary Club of Daejeon Jungdo. Under the dynamic and magical leadership of President Hosan Kim Hyuntaek, the 47th president of the club, and graced by District Governor You Su Choi Dong Woo, this event marked a significant milestone in the enduring relationship between the two clubs, epitomizing Rotary's global mission of "Service Above Self."
The formal invitation from the Rotary Club of Daejeon Jungdo encapsulated the spirit of unity and service that binds these international clubs. The event, held on June 27, 2024, at the elegant Taegeuk Hall in Gyeryong Hotel, stood as a testament to the shared values and mutual respect that have long characterized this partnership. The distinguished attendees from the Rotary Club of New Manila East included Magical President Karlo Nisce, First Lady Dr. Diana Nisce, IPP Marlon Mañaol, PP John Paul Montero, and International Service Chairman PP Michael Ryan Dela Cruz.
The Rotary Club of Daejeon Jungdo welcomed their new President, Hosan Kim Hyuntaek, who will serve as the 2024-25 (47th) Chairman of their club. President Karlo Nisce's heartfelt congratulatory message, delivered eloquently in Korean, deeply resonated with the audience and greatly impressed their hosts. His message highlighted the theme "The Magic of Rotary," emphasizing the transformative power of service and the extraordinary achievements realized through collective effort and dedication. His words not only celebrated the new leadership of the Rotary Club of Daejeon Jungdo but also reinforced the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the sister clubs.
The delegation's visit extended beyond the ceremonial hall, as they toured the vibrant city of Daejeon, including a significant stop at the Daejeon Korean Medicine Hospital of Daejeon University. This visit was particularly meaningful, as the Rotary Club of New Manila East, during the tenure of Past President Michael Dela Cruz, facilitated an outbound grant resulting in the acquisition of a state-of-the-art FibroScan device for the hospital. This non-invasive, gold-standard solution for comprehensive liver health management stands as a beacon of the impactful collaborations fostered through Rotary's global network. A highlight of the cultural immersion was the visit to Beopjusa Temple, home to Korea's highest pagoda. The temple, with its rich history and serene beauty, provided a moment of reflection on the enduring nature of service and the historical significance of the partnerships forged through Rotary.
The journey to South Korea was more than a ceremonial visit; it was a reaffirmation of the Rotary Club of New Manila East's commitment to fostering international relationships and creating lasting, positive impacts across borders. The strengthened ties with their Korean counterparts underscore the truly global nature of Rotary and the boundless possibilities for collaboration and service.
