March is Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Month in Rotary International, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the critical role of clean water, proper sanitation, and good hygiene in safeguarding community health.

In line with this global observance, a Hygiene Education and Hygiene Kit Distribution project was successfully carried out at Toro Hills Elementary School, benefiting 50 students. The initiative aimed to strengthen both awareness and daily practice of proper hygiene behaviors among young learners, recognizing that early education plays a key role in lifelong health habits.

The program featured printed guides provided to students, covering essential practices such as proper handwashing, personal cleanliness, oral hygiene, and basic disease prevention. Demonstrations helped reinforce these lessons, making them easier to understand and apply in their everyday school routines.

To further support these efforts, each student received a hygiene kit containing soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and other basic necessities. These kits were designed to encourage students to consistently practice what they learned, both at home and in school.

Beyond immediate benefits, the project seeks to reduce the risk of communicable diseases, promote healthier learning environments, and inspire long-term behavioral change. Through initiatives like this, Rotary continues to advance its commitment to sustainable community development and improved public health.
